Utility model protection in Hungary is available for technical solutions related to the configuration or construction of an article or the arrangement of parts thereof. Furthermore, an equipment and a system consisting of several interconnected devices shall be considered also a utility model.
Although a utility model application is not examined for novelty and inventive steps, other requirements are examined, e.g. whether the subject of the application is a utility model, the consistency of the description, claims and drawings etc. Therefore the drafting of a utility model application shall be carried out carefully, as granting a utility model protection is not automatic in Hungary.
